Melodies of Learning: Workshop on Music Composition

THE BEAT OF LEARNING: EXPLORING MUSIC IN EDUCATION

A Music Composition Workshop was organized at Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Training College as part of the camp activities. The session commenced at 10:00 a.m. in the General Hall under the guidance of Anayadi Rakesh Sir. The workshop aimed to familiarize students with various ragas and musical elements, and to explore how music can be meaningfully incorporated into the teaching-learning process.
The session was highly interactive, allowing students to experiment with notes, rhythms, and the emotions expressed through different ragas. It provided a refreshing blend of art and education, where participants enthusiastically explored how melody and rhythm can enrich classroom learning.
During the afternoon session, participants were given an interesting task — to compose a musical piece based on an academic concept. Each group selected a topic and creatively transformed it into a musical composition. Our group, humorously named “เดคเดฒ”, chose a theme from the unit “Cells and Cell Clusters” and composed a spontaneous, entertaining song through discussion and collaboration. The activity promoted creativity, teamwork, and deeper subject understanding while keeping the learning atmosphere light and joyful.

The day concluded with students presenting their poems and musical creations, filling the hall with energy, laughter, and creativity.
The session was truly inspiring, imaginative, and enjoyable, highlighting the beautiful harmony between music and science in the learning process.
