Balancing Health and Duty๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿซ: A Week of Observations๐Ÿ“š and Celebrations ๐Ÿฅ

Weekly Reflection

Week 8 (22 September 2025 – 26 September 2025)

 Day 1 (22/09/2025)

This week began on a slightly challenging note for me as I was unwell with fever, yet I continued my duties. The day was marked by a special assembly conducted by KITE members, which set a vibrant start. It was also significant because our optional teacher, Praveena Teacher, came to observe my and David’s classes and provided valuable feedback. At the same time, our peer Keerthy had her observation with her mentor, Sreelakshmi Teacher. Despite my health condition, I managed to stay active in the day’s responsibilities—helping with noon meal duty, assisting in arranging and distributing the newly arrived second-part textbooks, and even taking a Physical Education class for 8A. The day concluded with dispersal duty, leaving me both tired and fulfilled.

Day 2 (23/09/2025)

Today was another meaningful day. Alongside our routine tasks, our Physical Education teacher, Lal Sir, came for observation. The class went effectively, and his presence added motivation. The day also saw the beginning of various literary competitions, including story writing, essay writing, and poetry, filling the school with an atmosphere of creativity and expression.

Day 3 (24/09/2025)

The focus of today was on art and re-examinations. We were assigned duties to monitor competitions like pencil drawing, watercolour painting, and cartoon drawing, which showcased the immense talent of our students. At the same time, re-exams were conducted for those who had not cleared the Onam examination. Balancing between supervising the contests and ensuring exam discipline gave us a sense of responsibility in both academic and co-curricular dimensions.

Day 4 & 5 (25/09/2025–26/09/2025)

The last two days of the week were vibrant and lively as the school hosted the much-awaited Kalolsavam. It was a different and enriching experience to witness the cultural spirit of the students come alive through various performances and competitions. Though I was still not feeling completely well, I found joy in being part of the celebrations. Along with my peers, I managed our regular duties—noon meal supervision, maintaining discipline, and dispersal duty. The festival atmosphere, filled with energy and enthusiasm, made the week memorable despite the personal challteachers

Week 8 was filled with pride and joy as our students achieved remarkable success in the sub-district competitions. It was a week that highlighted both their talents and our shared dedication as teachers.

Symphony 2K25๐ŸŽค๐ŸŽถ – Our School Kalolsavam๐ŸŽธ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿ’ƒ

Thursday and Friday were truly special days in our school as we celebrated the much-awaited School Kalolsavam – Symphony 2K25. The campus came alive with vibrant colors, energetic performances, and the joyful spirit of competition.
On the first day, students showcased their talents in programs such as recitations, Urdu group songs, and Mappilapaattu. A special highlight of the day was the green dress code๐Ÿ’š followed by all the staff members, which added charm and unity to the celebration. The noon meal was also festive, featuring rice, kappa, pulisseri, and fish curry.
The second day continued with equal enthusiasm, featuring balanced recitations, Samskritolsavam, and dance programs such as folk dance, Thiruvathira, Bharathanatyam, and group songs. On this day, the staff, including us, wore blue-colored attire๐Ÿ’™, which gave the whole campus a lively and coordinated look. Once again, the meal was special with rice and delicious fish curry.
Along with enjoying the cultural programs, we actively took part in duties such as serving noon meals, maintaining discipline, and assisting with dispersal. Though it was a bit tiring, being part of such a grand event gave us immense satisfaction.
Symphony 2K25 was not just a festival of arts but also a celebration of teamwork, unity, and creativity. It was truly a memorable experience for both students and teachers, leaving us with cherished memories of talent and togetherness.

Week 7: Blending Learning with Responsibilities

Weekly Reflection
Week 7 (15 September 2025 – 17 September 2025)

Day 1 (15/09/2025)
The week began with the usual Monday morning assembly. A special highlight of the day was the Little Kites One-Day Preliminary Camp held from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. The program was inaugurated by our Headmaster, Sri. Sunil Kumar S, and the resource person was Sri. Ansar M, Master Trainer from KITE Kollam. It was an informative and inspiring event that focused on developing students’ digital skills and creativity. Alongside the program, we carried out our usual duties such as noon meal duty, dispersal, and also took our regular class.

Day 2 (16/09/2025)
Today was more of a creative day. Along with our regular duties, we started working on script writing for a school-based activity under the EDU 12 paper. The theme of the script was the Prohibition of Child Labour, which is an important social issue. This task gave us the chance to blend educational objectives with creativity and prepare for an engaging drama that could raise awareness among students.

Day 3 (17/09/2025)
We took the next step in our drama preparation by selecting students to act in the play. Roles were assigned, and the script was handed over to them. We also began the first round of practice, guiding the students to understand their characters and dialogues. It was encouraging to see their enthusiasm and willingness to participate. The process not only helped students explore their acting skills but also made them reflect on the seriousness of the issue of child labour.

Day 4 & 5(18/09/2025 – 19/09/2025)
We couldn’t attend school on these two days as we had to appear for the KTET Category 2 & 3 exams. Even though we missed school, it was a necessary step for our professional growth.

Overall, Week 7 was a balanced mix of classroom duties, student activities like drama preparation, and professional commitments such as KTET exams, giving me both school-based learning and personal growth opportunities.

๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ“šBack to School After Onam: A Week of Learning and Bonding

Weekly Reflection
Week 6 (08 September 2025 – 12 September 2025)

 Day 1 (08/09/2025)
The school reopened after the Onam vacation with the usual Monday morning assembly. As per my timetable, I had the first period, but I felt that many students were still in the “vacation mood,” finding it a little difficult to get back on track with studies. I tried to engage them patiently and slowly bring them into focus. The strength of the school was comparatively less today, likely because some studperiodd not yet returned from vacation. A bittersweet moment of the day was when our beloved High School Arabic teacher, Rasna Teacher, left the school as a permanent Arabic teacher had been appointed. We all felt sad since we had developed a bond with her during our practice. During the last break, the school served  payasam, which brought a cheerful touch to the day. Along with my peers, I continued my usual duties like noon meal service and student dispersal.

Day 2 (09/09/2025)
Today was a fairly usual day filled with routine tasks and substitution period. However, the day also carried a sense of farewell and change. A formal meeting was held to bid goodbye to our work experience teacher, Shanu Sir, who officially left for his new posting in Wayanad. Though it was a moment of pride for him, it was also emotional for the staff, as his presence had been a valuable support in the school community.

Day 3 (10/09/2025)
I handled my regular class today, trying to re-establish the students’ focus after their vacation break.I also got substitution period in 8A. To make learning more engaging, I used teaching aids, which helped bring back their attention and involvement. During the final period, we, along with my peer group, guided the students of Class 8A to line up according to their heights. This activity, part of physical education, not only taught them discipline but also brought in a sense of unity and coordination.

Day 4 (11/09/2025)
The fourth day of the week was quite dynamic. Along with my substitution period, I was also entrusted with additional responsibilities. I got the chance to assist in monitoring a chess competition, which gave me a closer look at students’ analytical and strategic thinking skills. Later, I was also involved in conducting a science quiz, where students displayed their knowledge and enthusiasm. It was truly inspiring to see their talents and curiosity shine through. Alongside these events, I fulfilled my regular duties with my peers, making it a balanced and productive day.

Day 5 (12/09/2025)
The final day of the week followed a regular rhythm in the morning as I took my scheduled classes as per the timetable. The afternoon session, however, was marked by the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting. This gathering provided an opportunity for parents and teachers to collaborate, share observations, and discuss the overall development of students. Being present in such a forum was insightful, as it highlighted the important role of parent-teacher partnerships in shaping a student’s education.

Overall, Week 6 marked a smooth transition from vacation mode back to regular school routines, with a mix of classroom teaching, student activities, and farewells that enriched my teaching practice experience.
