Discovering History: A Visit to the Veluthampi Dalawa Memorial Museum

On 19th October 2024, I had the opportunity to visit the Veluthampi Dalawa Memorial Museum in Mannady, a monument that honors the legacy of the great freedom fighter Veluthampi Dalawa.

Our knowledgeable guide, Ms. Lekshmi, provided a detailed account of Dalawa's life, highlighting his crucial role in resisting British colonial rule. The museum showcased a rich collection of artifacts, photographs, and documents, offering a fascinating glimpse into the history of Kerala’s struggle for independence. Lekshmi’s insights brought the exhibits to life, making the visit both educational and inspiring, leaving me with a deeper appreciation for the sacrifices made by leaders like Veluthampi Dalawa in shaping our history.

A heartfelt thank you to Riju Sir, our principal, for organizing this enriching visit, allowing us to connect with our history in such a meaningful way.
